Star Princess-Day 4-Cabo San Lucas

Nov 17, Monday: What a lovely day in Cabo. The weather was perfect and if there is still damage from the hurricane you sure can’t see it from the ship. The Celebrity Infinity was in port when we arrived and in the early afternoon the Carnival Imagination arrived. We had breakfast on the deck watching the sea and the shore. We continued with that activity for a good portion of the day. We also walked around taking photographs. We had a simple lunch in the Horizon Court Buffet and decided to watch a movie in the theater called Lucy. June and I left about a half hour into the blood bath and went back out to relax on the deck.We relaxed on deck, watched sail away and took more photo. By then it was time to freshen up for dinner and after that a comedy show that was pretty good. Off to bed early for reading or TV time.

Star Princess-Day 3

Nov 16, Sunday: What did we do today?  I can hardly remember. I know we got up about 7;30 am, had our coffee, and went to breakfast. John and June went to breakfast actually and I  joined them after checking email to see how Mom is doing. (she is recovering well). I joined them later and June and I headed to the fruit and vegetable carving, that was fun. We made a quick stop at the bargain shopping and I found Julie a cute outfit. Jason and Julie turned in their Treasure Hunt papers but they didn’t win anything. Later in the day Jason won a medal for soccer shoot out. The adults had a lovely lunch in the dining room. I’m not sure where the kids ate. The adults stopped at the Art Auction even though it already started. There was a Gold Member Event we went to in the theater, June is a gold member. She didn’t win the grand prize but she did win a bottle of champagne! We had an afternoon glass of wine and visited with Dan, a man we met on this cruise. After that it was time for dinner and the show following that. The kids enjoyed a fruit sort of smoothie drink, not sure what it was but they liked it. The kids were going to go watch the Movie Under the Stars after the show but it was to start much later and they were tired so they came back early and went to bed around the time we did.

Star Princess-Day 2

Nov 15, Saturday: The kids filled out their Treasure Hunt papers today around the ship. They go to different locations and get stamps on a page and they will turn them in tomorrow at a specific place for the chance to win a prize of some sort.  I’m not sure what else they did other than eat and go to a basketball free throw shoot out and Julie won a medal beating our everyone else in the number of free throw baskets made. She got 7/10. She was pretty happy. The adults went to discount shopping even but didn’t get anything. We had a quick lunch in the Horizon Court so we could get to the Art Auction on time for the free glass of champagne!

Welcome Aboard-Day 1

Nov 14, Friday: Our train/bus trip was uneventful. The train did leave Fresno 20 minutes late but we met up with June and Jason just fine at the Modesto stop.  I held our seats so John and Julie could go down and help them on with their luggage. June brought a ton of lunch for all of us to eat along the way. Then it was a quick transfer to the bus and on to the ferry building. The bus driver said since he had so many people going to the ship he would make an unscheduled stop and get us as close as he could. How nice! I never thought that would happen! He seemed to be going further away from the ship at one point but sure enough when we stopped we did get  get off less than one block from the ship! There was a long line to actually get ON the ship so I went and stood in that while everyone else dropped off their luggage. No questions about wine this time and not waiting in a separate line to declare the wine we were allowed to bring on. We were assigned early traditional dining, so that is best under the circumstances of this trip. Finally we are on board! Let the fun begin. We walked just a little bit aft to the Terrace Pool and found it to be a lovely, quiet spot. All of our luggage trickled in and we all got unpacked at different times. Julie and Jason took off to find burgers and fries. I think they checked the entire ship while June, John, and I had a glass of wine by the Terrace Pool. Dinner was long but they will speed up I am sure. We went off to bed while the kids to the Movie Under the Stars. I was dozing off by the time Julie got back. We turned the clock ahead one hour. An early end to a full day.
